Idris Olorunnimbe now UBEC Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Idris Olorunnimbe as the Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board.
Olorunnimbe, a distinguished entrepreneur and administrator, is widely recognized for his contributions to Nigeria’s creative and corporate sectors, having founded The Temple Company, a multidisciplinary firm involved in media, entertainment, and consulting.
Beyond the private sector, Olorunnimbe has a strong record in public service, having previously served as a Senior Special Assistant on Special Projects to former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, where he played an instrumental role in various developmental initiatives.
His tenure in the Lagos State government was marked by a commitment to public policy, infrastructure development, and social impact programs.
In his new role at UBEC, Olorunnimbe is expected to bring his expertise in leadership and policy execution to enhance the commission’s mandate, ensuring improved educational infrastructure, curriculum development, and teacher training across the country.
Alongside his appointment, President Tinubu also named Rasaq Olajuwon as Deputy Executive Secretary for Technical at UBEC, while Tunde Ajibulu assumes the role of Deputy Executive Secretary for Services.
