IGP Egbetokun inaugurates restructured Force Management Team

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has formally inaugurated the newly restructured Force Management Team (FMT) following the appointment of six new Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs). The move aims to enhance the administration and operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force.

At the inauguration ceremony on Monday, March 10, 2025, Egbetokun charged the new team with aligning police operations with the Federal Government’s agenda.

He reiterated his vision for a professional, service-driven, and people-friendly force capable of tackling contemporary crime.

A key focus of the FMT will be the reorganization of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and other investigative units.

The IGP directed an update of the Force’s criminal database, instructing the Department of Research and Planning (R&P) to collaborate with the Force Intelligence Department (FID) and the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to ensure the database supports investigations and enhances policing strategies.

He emphasized equipping investigative units with advanced technology, specialized training, and adequate resources to strengthen their crime-fighting capabilities while upholding professionalism, justice, and human rights.

The establishment of the restructured FMT marks a significant step toward fostering collaboration and innovation within the Nigeria Police Force, ultimately contributing to improved security across the country.
