IGP visits Enugu, reaffirms commitment to security, collaboration

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has commenced a two-day official visit to Enugu State.

According to a statement by the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Friday, the visit aims to strengthen security and foster collaboration with key stakeholders.

The statement revealed that the IGP arrived in the state on Wednesday, accompanied by senior officers, including DIG Frank Mba, AIG Godwin Aghaulor, AIG Kwazhi Bzigu Dali, and the Commissioners of Police for Enugu and Anambra States.

During the visit, the IGP met with Governor Peter Mbah to discuss strategies for enhancing the state’s security framework. He reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s (NPF) commitment to maintaining peace and protecting lives and property in Enugu and across the country.

The IGP also visited the Enugu Council of Traditional Rulers, where he was received by the Chairman, His Royal Majesty Igwe Samuel Asogwa, and other traditional leaders.

He highlighted the critical role of traditional institutions in supporting community-based security initiatives and urged continued collaboration to address security challenges effectively.

Addressing police officers in the state, the IGP emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and empathy in the discharge of their duties. He called on officers to exhibit exemplary character while engaging with citizens to build trust and ensure effective law enforcement.
