Ikorodu Division rallies behind Tinubu, pledges massive support for 2027

Political leaders, traditional rulers, youths, students and other stakeholders from Ikorodu Division in Lagos State have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced at the Ikorodu Division Unites for 2027 Rally held on February 9, 2026, at the Ikorodu Town Hall. Participants cited what they described as key achievements of the Tinubu administration, including economic reforms, infrastructure development, social intervention programmes and efforts aimed at strengthening national stability.

The rally drew participants from the six local government and local council development areas in the division in Ikorodu Central, Ikorodu North, Ikorodu West, Igbogbo-Baiyeku, Ijede and Imota in what organisers described as a demonstration of unity within the progressive fold. Traditional rulers across the division also publicly declared their support.
Speaking at the palace of the Ayangburen of Ikorodu and Paramount Ruler of Ikorodu Division, Oba (Engr.) Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, royal fathers described President Tinubu’s leadership as vital to Nigeria’s stability and development.

Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, commended the people of Ikorodu for their loyalty and early mobilisation, noting that the division has historically played a prominent role in progressive politics in Lagos State.
Chairman of the occasion, Col. Onafowokan Bolaji Titilola (rtd), said the endorsement was driven by conviction in President Tinubu’s leadership capacity, describing him as a tested and visionary statesman with a record of impactful governance.
Other speakers, including Ikorodu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Adedayo Ladega, and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, pointed to economic reforms and security efforts as signs of gradual national recovery. They urged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa; Senator Mukhail Abiru; and House of Representatives member, Hon. Babajimi Benson, highlighted ongoing federal projects and legislative collaboration aimed at economic repositioning. They described the rally as a reaffirmation of Ikorodu Division’s longstanding alignment with progressive governance.
