The Special Adviser to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Sustainable Development Goals and Multilateral Relations, Bamikole Omisore, has said the votes Adeleke garnered from Ile-Ife in the just-concluded governorship election reflected the people’s confidence in his administration.
Omisore, in a statement, said the four local government areas of the Ife Federal Constituency — Ife East, Ife Central, Ife North and Ife South — collectively gave Adeleke 75,758 votes.
He said Ife East recorded 27,201 votes, Ife Central 21,171, Ife North 13,879 and Ife South 13,507, adding that the result in Ife East was particularly significant.
According to him, Ife East moved from a deficit of 1,282 votes for Adeleke in the 2022 election to 27,201 votes in the latest poll.
“The people of Ile-Ife have demonstrated remarkable unity and purpose. The 75,758 votes delivered across the four zones represent a strong expression of confidence in Governor Adeleke’s leadership. This is not merely about numbers; it is a collective commitment to the development and progress of Ile-Ife and Osun State,” he stated.
He commended residents of Ife Central, Ife North and Ife South for their contributions, saying the figures demonstrated broad-based support for the governor.
“Every section of Ile-Ife contributed to this historic outcome. From our young people and students to traders, farmers, professionals and community elders, everyone played an important role. The result is a reflection of what can be achieved when the people stand together with a shared vision,” Omisore said.
He also acknowledged the contributions of political leaders and elders to the mobilisation that produced the electoral outcome, saying the victory reflected the collective decision of the people across Osun State.
