Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has declared that he is fully prepared for the party’s primary election ahead of the 2027 governorship poll.

Alli made the declaration on Wednesday during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

The senator, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, said he was not afraid of any mode of primary election adopted by the party leadership.

He expressed confidence that he would emerge as the APC governorship candidate either through direct primaries or an affirmation process.

Alli urged party members and other aspirants not to allow disagreements over the conduct of primaries to create division within the party.

According to him, unity within the APC remains the most important factor needed to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also called on members to remain peaceful and intensify grassroots mobilisation across the state as preparations for the election continue.

Several APC chieftains at the meeting, including Senator Ayo Adeseun, Hon. Remi Oseni and Hon. Segun Odebunmi, expressed support for Alli’s ambition and urged members to work for the success of the party in 2027.
