Imo govt partners private firm on construction of mega hotel project

In a significant move aimed at bolstering the hospitality sector, Imo State government has forged a groundbreaking partnership with Hassan Allam Holding and Punz Limited for the construction of a 200-Room Imo Marriott Hotel in Owerri.

Governor Hope Uzodinma, unveiling the development on Friday via his official handle, expressed satisfaction with the achievement.

According to him, the project, operating under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, is set to be completed within an ambitious 24-month timeframe.

He also disclosed that the endeavor has garnered financial support from reputable institutions such as Afrexim Bank and Fidelity Bank Plc, with the State Government also contributing as an equity partner.

Emphasizing the significance of citizen engagement, Governor Uzodinma highlighted the project’s role in showcasing the state’s commitment to expanding the hospitality industry, thus driving economic growth and prosperity.

“This collaborative effort epitomizes our dedication to driving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life for our citizens,” he affirmed.
