INEC REC meets Lagos CP, seeks collaboration for election security
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State, Mr. Segun Osinowo has solicited for the support of the police in ensuring maximum security during elections in the state.
Osinowo stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Wednesday.
A statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said Osinowo, who visited the police commissioner alongside senior executives of the Commission lauded Mr.Alabi for his strides and initiatives that have ensured relative peace and safety across the state.
He equally solicited the support of the commissioner and the entire Command towards effective election security and a general mutually beneficial professional relationship.
Alabi on his part, assured the REC of the readiness of the Command to at all times provide adequate security for the conduct of successful elections in the state.
