INEC set to display Ekiti voters’ register prior June 20 guber poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to display the preliminary voters’ register of electorates in Ekiti State as part of preparations for the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Bunmi Omoseyindemi, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.

According to Omoseyindemi, the display of the register would take place from March 6 to March 12, 2026 at designated centres across the 177 wards in the state.

He further explained that the exercise is designed to enable registered voters and other stakeholders to verify their details and confirm the accuracy of the voters’ register ahead of the election.

The REC therefore urged residents to visit the centres within their wards to check their names and personal information, adding that the exercise will also allow eligible voters whose names are missing to file claims, request corrections to errors such as wrong names or dates of birth, and raise objections against ineligible persons listed on the register.

He went on to assure the public of INEC’s commitment to maintaining a credible and transparent voters’ register as part of preparations for the forthcoming governorship poll in the state.
