A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and former Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, High Chief Olayato Aribo, has denounced the attack on Ipele town in Owo Kingdom, describing it as a barbaric act.

Aribo, in a statement he personally signed and released to journalists from his hometown of Imoru in Ose Local Government Area, expressed shock over the New Year’s Eve incident.

The attack, allegedly carried out by unknown gunmen, led to the destruction of the Divisional Police Station in the community, heightening security concerns among residents.

The APC stalwart said that although the perpetrators were yet to be identified, he was optimistic that the prompt actions taken by the state government and security agencies would soon yield results.

He expressed sympathy with the people of Ipele and officers of the Nigeria Police Force affected by the attack, urging them to remain steadfast.

“I use this medium to register my deep commiseration with the good people of Ipele in Owo Kingdom and the Nigeria Police Force over the deadly attack on the Divisional Police Station by yet-to-be-identified gunmen. I also salute our security agents for their prompt response to salvage the situation,” he said.

Aribo also offered prayers for peace, safety and improved well-being for residents of Ondo State in the New Year.
