Ping pong enthusiasts in Africa can look forward to a busy and thrilling 2025.

This follows the unveiling of an array of events by the newly constituted executive council of the African Table Tennis Federation (ITTF Africa), led by Nigeria’s Wahid Enitan Oshodi.

With three major continental events scheduled, African players will have ample opportunities to compete in regional tournaments and world championships, showcasing their skills against top players from other continents.

The year kicks off in February with Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna and Egypt’s Dina Meshref defending their titles at the 2025 Africa Cup in Tunis, Tunisia.

From February 25 to 27, top players across Africa will gather in Tunis for this prestigious event. In addition, five regional tournaments will be hosted in various locations: Nigeria (West), Madagascar (East), Namibia (South), and Congo Brazzaville (Central).

In July, Lagos, Nigeria, will host the African Youth Championships (AYC), which will include the debut of the African Youth Cup, a new tournament for young players.

Oshodi emphasized the significance of the AYC, expressing his excitement about nurturing young table tennis talent across Africa.
