Internationally renowned singer and actress Jennifer Lopez has ended her two-year marriage to actor Ben Affleck, marking the conclusion of a widely publicized Hollywood romance.
According to multiple reports, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday, August 21, citing irreconcilable differences after two years of marriage. The couple, who celebrated their second anniversary in July 2024, have reportedly not been living together for some time.
The Hollywood power couple exchanged vows in a private Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022. Lopez joyfully announced their marriage on her website, writing, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
Their relationship has been a topic of public fascination for decades. Lopez and Affleck originally dated in the early 2000s, and were engaged to be married in 2003. However, they postponed their wedding and ultimately went their separate ways.
Affleck later married actress Jennifer Garner in 2005, with whom he shares three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. The couple separated in 2015 and finalized their divorce in 2018.
Lopez, on the other hand, married singer Marc Anthony in 2004, and they announced their split in 2011 after seven years of marriage. The former couple shares 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance in 2021 following Lopez’s breakup with her former fiancé Alex Rodriguez. Reflecting on their relationship in 2022, Lopez described it as “a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”
Now, with their split, the chapter of “Bennifer” appears to have come to an end once again, capturing the attention of fans and media worldwide.
