Julius Agwu recalls difficult years of recovery, says friends abandoned him

Veteran Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu has opened up about the aftermath of his health crisis, revealing how the experience affected his life and relationships.

Agwu, who spoke during his recent appearance on the Beer Parlour Talkshow, became emotional while recounting his struggles during the difficult period.

He recalled feeling abandoned by some of his friends during his recovery, describing the period as one marked by hardship.

Agwu was renowned for his energetic performances in comedy and music-comedy projects, including his 2006 hit, Handwork.

His career was interrupted in 2015 after he suffered a seizure at home and was later diagnosed with a brain tumour. He subsequently underwent brain surgery in Houston, United States.

However, Agwu faced a difficult recovery process and experienced another health crisis in 2016.

For someone who spent years making Nigerians laugh, his emotional moment offered a glimpse into the personal battles he faced away from the stage.
