JUST IN: EFCC releases Aminu Tambuwal
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released former Sokoto State Governor and current Senator, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Tambuwal was reportedly freed on Tuesday evening after hours of questioning at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Details of the interrogation and the allegations against him are yet to be officially disclosed by the EFCC.
Sources, however, indicated that the questioning was linked to investigations into alleged financial mismanagement during his tenure as governor.
The EFCC is expected to issue a formal statement on the development.
