JUST IN: Nigerian Bar Association elects new President
A Former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) General Secretary, Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN), has been elected as the President of the association in the bar election concluded on Saturday night.
Osigwe polled 20,435 votes to defeat his closest contender, the Chairman of the NBA-Institute of Continuing Legal Education Governing Council, Tobenna Erojikwe, who scored 10,998 votes.
The former NBA Lagos Branch Chairman, Chukwuka Ikwuazom (SAN), trailed with 9,018 votes.
Afam Osigwe succeeds outgoing president, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN).
The voting which began on Saturday, ended at 11:59 pm.
