TMSG condemns PDP Governors as ‘hypocritical’ critics

The Tinubu Media Group (TMSG) has sharply criticized the governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), labeling them “chichidodos,” a mythical bird that detests excreta but feeds on worms found in it. This remark came after the PDP governors criticized the Tinubu administration.

In a statement released Sunday in Abuja, TMSG accused the PDP governors of hypocrisy. Despite benefiting from increased allocations under the Tinubu administration, the governors have accused the government of non-performance.

TMSG, in a statement signed by its Chairman Emeka Nwankpa and Secretary Dapo Okubanjo, described the PDP governors’ comments as insincere and sanctimonious.

“The governors elected on the platform of the PDP are in no position to advise President Bola Tinubu on governance or rate his performance in office because none of them has done anything worthwhile with the improved revenue they had been getting since Tinubu assumed office in the last year,” the group stated.

TMSG criticized the PDP governors for their lack of substantial achievements despite receiving increased public funds.

The group condemned the governors for pointing fingers at President Tinubu while failing to deliver significant infrastructural projects in their states.

TMSG highlighted the irony of governors from oil-producing states, which still have high levels of poverty, criticizing the federal government.

The group also dismissed the PDP governors’ nostalgia for their party’s tenure, accusing them of presiding over oil boom eras with little to show for it. TMSG argued that the PDP had squandered Nigeria’s resources and neglected public infrastructure during its 16 years in power.

Citing a statement from Information Minister Mohammed Idris, TMSG lauded President Tinubu’s achievements in infrastructure, social welfare, and national security.

They pointed to the decimation of Boko Haram and progress against banditry as key successes.

“If a 16-year period marked by those harsh realities were the good old days the PDP governors were referencing, then our message to them is, Never again,” TMSG concluded.
