Former Oyo State governor, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has been confirmed as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, with his coronation ceremony scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
Ladoja’s nomination received official approval from Governor Seyi Makinde, after which a state delegation visited the Olubadan-designate and members of the Olubadan-in-Council at his Bodija residence on Wednesday.
Confirming the development, Ladoja’s media aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, said:
“Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025.”
Ahead of the coronation, Ladoja held a closed-door meeting with the kingmakers at his private residence on Ondo Street, Old Bodija, Ibadan North Local Government Area, on Tuesday.
The session, which lasted nearly two hours, was the first since his return following the passing of the immediate past monarch, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
