JUST IN: Ondo Revenue Service clarifies viral report on IGR figures
By Boye Oyeyemi –
The Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS) has refuted a report making the rounds on social media and some online platforms, which claimed the state generated ₦22,483,369,409.97 as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the first half of 2025.
In a statement signed by the Acting Executive Chairman, Bayo Rojugbokan, and obtained by WESTERN POST, the agency described the publication as misleading and inaccurate.
He clarified that the official and verifiable IGR figure for Ondo State within the period stood at ₦28,154,864,901.17, according to data published on the Joint Tax Board (JTB) portal.
Rojugbokan reaffirmed ODIRS’ commitment to transparency, accountability and the growth of the state’s revenue base, stressing that the agency operates in line with global best practices.
He urged members of the public and stakeholders to always verify information from credible and official sources before sharing, warning that misinformation could mislead the public and undermine confidence in governance.
“The people of Ondo State can be assured that the Service will continue to work tirelessly to improve revenue generation towards the sustainable development of our dear State,” the statement added.
