Kemi Adeosun bounces back, joins ex-finance ministers to improve public health financing

Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, is partnering with former finance ministers of some countries to improve public health funding.
Adeosun shared a picture and a post of her meeting with her former colleagues from Mexico, Colombia, South Africa and some World Bank officials on her Facebook page.
The former minister of finance in Nigeria is making her presence known on global stage again following her unceremonious resignation from her government position due to National Youth Service Corps certificate scandal in 2018.
She was accused of using forged NYSC discharge certificate to enable her scale through House of Assembly screening as Commissioner in Ogun State in 2011.
She presented same NYSC forged certificate to the National Assembly for her ministerial nomination screening in 2015.
She, however, claimed ignorance of the certificate being forged, adding that she applied to be exempted after her return to Nigeria having been born in London by her Nigerian parents where she did all her education.
The media frenzy that followed the scandal forced her to resign as Minister of Finance. She later won her case in court where she was discharged and acquitted of forgery.
Announcing her new project, Mrs. Adeosun said COVID-19 disrupted the global economy and cost it trillions in dollars saying the world must now invest in public health to prepare for future pandemic.
Her post where she announced herself as the only woman among her peers reads in full: “Covid-19 cost the global economy trillions. I joined Ex Ministers from Colombia; M Gardenas to my left, World Bank Officials and ex South Africa Minister Trevor Manuel, plus ex colleagues from Argentina and Mexico. We are working on improving public health financing. Big question, Why I am the only woman round the table?”
