Kidnapped Ondo health worker regains freedom

A staff member of the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Ondo State, Pastor Ayodeji Akesinro, who was abducted two days ago, has been rescued.
WESTERN POST had reported that Akesinro, who is also a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, was seized by gunmen on Thursday evening at his residence in Upenme, Owo Local Government Area.
Sources said security operatives swung into action shortly after the incident, leading to his release.
However, details of the rescue operation remain unclear as of the time of filing this report.
Confirming the development, a labour leader expressed joy over the health worker’s safety.
“We are glad to announce the safe release of our colleague, Pastor (MLS) Akesinro Ayodeji, who was abducted in Owo.
“We give glory to God Almighty and sincerely appreciate the security agencies, government authorities, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers whose prayers, efforts, and support made this possible.”
