Kwara: GGDSS Oko-Erin alumni celebrate 40th anniversary with N3.5 million projects

The Government Girls Day Secondary School (GGDSS) Oko-Erin Alumni marked the school’s 40th anniversary by donating over N3.5 million for a new entrance gate and an equipped laboratory.
The event, held on September 27th and 28th, saw alumni, current students, and staff come together to celebrate the school’s legacy.
Olori Elizabeth Ajibola, a 1995 alumna, expressed her joy at reuniting with old teachers and peers, highlighting the impact of the school on their lives. She urged fellow alumni to support the school as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts.
OSA President Hajia Funmilayo Elelu Solanke emphasized that the association had funded numerous projects, including a N1 million science laboratory renovation in March 2023. The 40th-anniversary project focused on revamping the school’s entrance, costing over N2 million.
The principal, Hajia Kudirat Balogun, praised the alumni for their continued support, encouraging further contributions to the school’s development.
Other highlights included health talks, seminars, and the launch of the alumni magazine.
