Senate summons Works Minister, Umahi over deplorable state of Oyo-Ogbomoso road
The Senate has summoned the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, over the deteriorating state of the Oyo-Ogbomoso road.
It followed a motion by Senator Buhari Abdulfatai (APC, Oyo North), who expressed concern over the worsened condition of the road.
According to Senator Buhari, the road linking the Western part of the country to the North has deteriorated with travellers experiencing severe hardship on the route.
“For over 10 years, despite the Federal Government initiating major repairs on the road, it remains in a deplorable state, resulting in regular accidents and daily gridlock caused by articulated vehicles,” Buhari lamented.
After debating the matter, senators summoned the minister of works for an explanation.
