Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq has praised the contributions of workers across sectors, describing them as the backbone of the state’s economic growth and societal advancement.

In a statement personally signed by the governor and released on Thursday to mark the 2025 International Workers’ Day, Abdulrazaq acknowledged the vital roles played by civil servants, teachers, artisans, healthcare workers, engineers, and others in building a prosperous Kwara.

“On the occasion of the 2025 International Workers’ Day, I extend warm greetings to men and women of both the public and private sectors whose efforts power our economy and shape the future of our society,” he said.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating an environment where workers thrive, careers are nurtured, and all sectors are empowered.

He highlighted key achievements under his leadership, including financial stability, timely salary payments, infrastructure development, entrepreneurship support, and social safety nets.

“As the world of work evolves with technology and automation, we must adapt,” he said, pointing to initiatives like the Innovation Hub, Visual Arts Centre, and ICT centres as steps toward preparing the workforce for the future.

Abdulrazaq also commended labour leaders for their cooperation and wished all workers a fulfilling and inspiring May Day celebration.
