Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday donated 25 Toyota Hilux vehicles to the state command of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen operational mobility and sustain efforts to combat crime.
At a brief presentation ceremony in Ilorin, the governor commended the police and other security agencies for their efforts to improve peace and safety across the state.
AbdulRazaq said the donation was aimed at supporting security operations and sustaining the gains recorded in the fight against crime.
He also urged residents to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could help prevent criminal activities and facilitate responses to security threats.
Receiving the vehicles, the state Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, described the governor’s intervention as part of a series of support measures for the police.
Ojo said the additional vehicles would strengthen the command’s operational capacity and improve its ability to respond to security challenges across the state.
He acknowledged improvements in the state’s security situation but said the police would intensify their efforts to achieve greater success in tackling crime.
The commissioner’s remarks underscored the need for sustained collaboration between security agencies and residents to consolidate peace and safety in Kwara State.
