The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has announced the hiring of 1,811 applicants following a recent recruitment process that attracted at least 55,713 applicants from across the state.
The successful candidates include 1,500 teachers, primarily in STEM subjects, and 311 non-teaching staff, such as drivers, security guards, and office assistants, to serve schools in the 16 local government areas of the state.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by KWSUBEB Chairman, Prof. Sheu Adaramaja, on Tuesday in Ilorin.
“Successful applicants with valid phone numbers have already been contacted for their letters. Documentation began on Monday, January 6, with successful applicants from Kwara North; Tuesday, January 7, is dedicated to new hires from Kwara South, while Wednesday, January 8, is for successful candidates from Kwara Central,” the statement read.
“Documents required during documentation include original and two photocopies of all credentials, two file jackets and tags, a citizenship certificate, two passport photographs, bond signing, and a filled-out biodata form, among other items,” it added.
Prof. Adaramaja emphasized that the recruitment process focused on hiring individuals who would remain in their assigned locations, highlighting the board’s effort to select competent and qualified candidates from rural communities to address the manpower shortages in these areas.
