The Kwara State Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with the murder of Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old graduating student of Kwara State College of Health Technology.
Parading the suspects before newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Friday, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, stated that Mojisola was allegedly lured to Ilorin by Adebayo Happiness, an expelled student of Summit University, under the pretext of receiving N15,000 to attend a sign-out party.
Adebayo Happiness was paraded alongside his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adebayo, who were charged as accomplices in the murder of Mojisola.
The Commissioner mentioned that the suspects will face charges of criminal conspiracy, theft, false personation, and culpable homicide.
In a separate incident, a driver named Ajiro Kayode was paraded for the alleged murder of one Chief Abraham Babatunde in Omu-Aran. Kayode, who was employed by the late Chief, allegedly assaulted Babatunde with a plank, leading to his death. He then reportedly dragged the body into the toilet to give the impression of an accident.
Similarly, the Kwara State Police Command arrested one Abolarin Samuel Idowu, a suspected member of the notorious Eiye secret cult, in connection with the murder of a victim identified as Anthony Kayode Balogun.
The police recovered several exhibits, including locally made guns, cartridges, and suspected hard drugs. The suspects will face charges of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, and illegal possession of firearms.
