Kwara storms National Para Games with 132 contingents

Kwara State Sports Commission Para athletes are set to depart Ilorin on Thursday for the Second National Para Games billed to commence in Abuja between 8-14th December.
While addressing the contingents today at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Commission, the Executive Chairman, Coach Bola Mogaji said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq cared for people with disabilities which is evident in the appointment of persons with disabilities in his government.
He said the Governor has approved the state’s participation in the Games as he urged them to put in their best and win laurels for the state.
Mogaji thanked the state government for approving funds for the Games as he urged them to be good ambassadors of the state.
In his address, the Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako commended the athletes for their orderliness and unity of purpose ahead of the Games.
He assured that their welfare is paramount to the Commission as all demands will be looked into.
Responding, the athletes appreciated the Commission for appointing the chaperone and camp commandant among the Para athletes as they promised to do the state proud and pledged support to the Commission.
The Commission will compete in nine events which include: Para Athletics, Para Badminton, Amputee football, Para Karate, para Shooting, Para Soccer, Powerlifting, Wheelchair Tennis and Para Table Tennis.
