Lagos State Chapter of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) on Saturday held its annual state convention in Ikoyi.

The event was a celebration of literature and a showcase of the chapter’s achievements.

Highlight of the convention was the launch of three anthologies: “Prisms”, an anthology of poems; “Talking Drums”, an anthology of essays; and “Next of Tales”, an anthology of short stories.

These publications feature works from talented writers and promise to make significant contributions to Nigerian literature.

The convention also saw the inauguration of a new executive, led by the Chairman Dr. Olatunbosun Taofeeq. Other members of the new executive include; Solape Adeyemi (Vice Chairman), Vinepaul Chimnemezu Nwaeze ( Secretary) Agnes Olayemi Johnson ( Publicity Secretary) and Deborah Omoaregba (Treasurer).

The event featured assorted poetry recitations, literary engagements, awards of honors, certificates of recognition, and a general assembly.

Dignitaries, patrons, and patronesses, as well as former state chairmen of the chapter, attended the convention and expressed their joy at participating in this year’s event.

The immediate past executive, led by Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Avajah, was commended for their innovative leadership and dedication to the association despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and other national and state ordeals.

The new executive has pledged to build on the successes of the past administration and take the chapter to its rightful position.

With the launch of the three anthologies and the inauguration of a new executive committee, ANA Lagos Chapter is poised for greater achievements in the literary world.
