Ndigbo Lagos APC: Igbokwe Lacks Electoral Value, Says Idimogwu

A Lagos lawmaker and Deputy Apex Leader of Ndigbos in All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Hon. Jude Idimogwu, has lambasted the Special Adviser on Drainage Services to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Mr Joe Igbokwe, saying that he lacks electoral value.
Idimogwu said this while protesting against the inauguration of executives of the Ejigbo APC Ndigbo on Saturday at the party’s secretariat in the council area.
The lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo constituency 2 at the state House of Assembly said Igbokwe cannot come to his local council to impose leadership on him.
He said: “We are Igbos in APC. Today, I am a serving member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the only Igbo man in elective position and this makes me a factor and leader in the party.
” Joe Igbokwe have never contested any election in life, he cannot come here and control me. This is my territory and I represent people here, it is not fair and acceptable for Igbokwe to come here and inaugurate executives of Ndigbo in APC without my input.
” It is an assault and disrespect to me. My position is that this inauguration cannot hold because the house is not complete, the group can go elsewhere but not in this party secretariat, my domain, where I live and sleep.
” We are not going to fight, neither are we going to destroy anything. Among Igbo, I am number one citizen here.”
Idimogu said that he would not recognise Joe Igbokwe as the Apex leader of Ndigbo in Lagos APC again, because he had not given him respect also.
According to him, the party must wade in urgently because election is coming.
Idimogwu added: “Election is coming and the party knows in this particular zone we have a lot of non-indigenes and they are watching.
“I am appealing to my leaders, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Rt- Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Lagos APC Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi and other leaders to call Joe Igbokwe to order. I am going to fight the fight, this is politics, I cannot sit down and somebody will carry fight to my house and I keep quiet”.
