Lagos confiscates over 300 motorcycles in a single day

Lagos State government on Thursday began clampdown on Okada riders on all highways across six Local Government Areas and nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on Wednesday announced a total ban on Okada effective from June 1 in Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Surulere, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Apapa.
At Ikeja early Thursday morning taskforce officers were seen in Ikeja wearing mufti and seizing Okada , while in the afternoon it was relatively calm.
At Allen Junction some Okada were seized from riders with taskforce officers stationed there with their vehicles.
At Alaba Rago axis, the taskforce officers in the area seized almost 200 Okada.
As the June 1 date draws near the taskforce officers have been stationed in the six local governments and nine local council development areas in the state to carry out Governor Sanwo-Olu’s instruction on total ban of Okada in these areas.
