Lagos building biggest mental home in Nigeria -Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday said the Lagos State government is building the biggest mental home in Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu made this known when Southern Governors’ wives paid him a courtesy call.
In his address, he said the Domestic and Social Violence Agency (DSVA), was established by the Lagos State government to curb domestic violence in the state. Sanwo-Olu also said drug abuse is a strong issue and the government is ready to tackle it in the state
He said: “I want to commend you for coming. We have gone further to establish a full DSVA. They have all of the policies.
“I want to commend talk on drug abuse. It is not something we can hide. We saw a couple of weeks ago where horrible drugs were packed. It is something we need to talk about.
“For us, we are building the biggest mental home in the country. We are building it as we speak, so we can deal with this problem.”
The Southern Governors’ wives, led by their President and wife of Osun State Governor, Kafayat Oyetola thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for his giant strides in the state, as well as his support of state’s Sensitisation Programmes on issues relating to sexual and gender-based violence.
The eleven members of the Southern Governors’ Wives Forum present included those from Lagos, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun, Enugu and Delta states.
