Lagos Police arrests school teacher for allegedly assaulting 3-year-old pupil
A private school teacher, Stella Nwadogo, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 3-year-old pupil, Michael Abayomi, during the school hours in Ishawo area of Ikorodu Local Government Area, Lagos.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency confirmed the arrest of the teacher in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, also confirmed the arrest on Wednesday.
“The teacher has been taken into custody and is currently undergoing investigation,” he stated.
In a viral video on the social media, the teacher was seen physically abusing the 3-year-old pupil because he could not easily write appropriately to the instructions of the teacher.
The action of the teacher had attracted condemnation by the social media users including the popular social media influencer and activist, Martins Vincent Otse, commonly known as VeryDarkman, who called out the school for the alleged assault by the teacher.
