Lagos First Lady celebrates successful pilgrimage, urges commitment to righteousness

Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State, has celebrated the successful completion of the 2024 pilgrimage to the Holy Lands of Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan.
She joined the first and second batches of Lagos State pilgrims in a Thanksgiving Service held at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Ikeja, on Thursday, March 13.
Accompanied by members of the Committee of the Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), Mrs. Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to God for the smooth completion of the pilgrimage and emphasized the need for collective prayers and commitment to righteousness.
Describing the pilgrimage as a divine encounter and a journey of faith, renewal, and transformation, she commended key officials, including the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite; Commissioner for Home Affairs, Olanrewaju Layode; and the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Yetunde Gbafe, for their dedication to ensuring a seamless experience.
Mrs. Sanwo-Olu encouraged pilgrims to live a Christ-centered life, urging them to reflect the spiritual lessons learned in their daily lives. She also called on others to consider embarking on the pilgrimage, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen faith, renew the spirit, and draw closer to God.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Matters, Very Revd Bukola Adeleke, commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support in ensuring the success of the 2024 pilgrimage. He urged the pilgrims to be exemplary ambassadors of Lagos State and Nigeria, continuing to pray for the well-being of both the state and the nation.
Similarly, the Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Florence Yetunde Gbafe, expressed her joy over the hitch-free pilgrimage. She encouraged more Christians to participate in the spiritual journey, describing it as a life-changing experience.
