The Lagos State Government on Wednesday said it is targeting $2.5 billion in local and foreign investments and over 600 high-profile delegates at the upcoming Invest in Lagos 3.0 Summit, aimed at strengthening the state’s position as Africa’s leading investment hub.
The Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Bada Ambrose-Medebem, disclosed this during the 2026 Ministerial Press Briefing held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.
She said the summit, scheduled to hold at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, from June 8 to 10, 2026, will be held under the theme “The Business Gateway to Africa” and represents the apex of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s investment promotion drive.
Ambrose-Medebem said the state is partnering with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) to deliver high-impact deals, infrastructure financing and sustainable development projects valued at about $2.5 billion.
She added that the summit would position Lagos as a leading subnational gateway for capital inflows, trade integration, financial innovation and infrastructure development, in line with the Lagos State Development Plan (LSDP 2052) and the Industrial Policy (2025–2030).
According to her, the event is expected to attract investors from Europe and other regions, including heads of government, governors, international financial institutions, multilateral agencies, industry leaders and angel investors.
The commissioner said more than 600 high-profile delegates are expected at the summit, underscoring Lagos’ growing influence in global investment conversations and its drive to expand economic opportunities.
She also said the ministry had implemented policies aimed at improving the business environment, expanding access to finance and strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through capacity-building and support programmes.
Ambrose-Medebem reaffirmed the Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to economic transformation, noting that ongoing initiatives are strengthening trade structures, revitalising cooperatives and expanding opportunities across both formal and informal sectors of the Lagos economy.
