LASU VC inaugurates LOC for 2026 11th ICCP

The Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, on Wednesday, 5th March 2025, inaugurated the Local Organising Committee for Lagos State University 2026 11th International Conference of Community Psychology (ICCP), which will hold between the last week of August and the first week of September 2026.
Prof. Olatunji-Bello formally inaugurated the eight-member committee at her office on the 6th floor of the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, urging them to organise a conference that would reflect the positive reputation of LASU.
In her address as Chairman of the LOC, Prof. Olatunji-Bello emphasised the importance of justifying the trust placed in the university by awarding it the hosting rights, saying “This will be the first time LASU is hosting the International Conference of Community Psychology, and we are proud to have won the hosting rights. Today’s inauguration marks the formal commencement of our preparations, which began over a year ago. LASU is a brand that must be projected positively by giving our best; we must ensure that this conference reflects the positive image of LASU.”

She announced that over 200 participants from approximately 25 countries would be attending the conference on the LASU campus and pledged that “…we will do our best to host the entire world.”
The Alternate Chairman, Prof. Temitayo Adewuyi expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for her leadership and assured that the committee members would collaborate with her to make the conference a memorable event.

On 17th February 2025, the Vice-Chancellor appointed the members of the Local Organising Committee, with herself as Chairman and Prof. Adewuyi as Alternate Chairman.
Other members include Prof. Olayinka Atilola, Prof. Noel Adeoye Setonji, Prof. Tunji Azeez, Prof. Oluwatoyin Enikuomehin, Dr Olayinka Goodman, Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu, and Mr Azeez O. Ganiyu (Secretary).
