Late Lagbaja: Osun declares three-day mourning, flags fly half-mast

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared a three-day mourning period in honor of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. Throughout this period, flags will be flown at half-mast across the state.
Condolence registers have also been opened at the Government House and Governor’s Office to allow the people of Osun to pay their respects.
In a statement issued in Osogbo on Thursday, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, described Lagbaja’s death as “devastating” and a “colossal loss to humanity and the nation.”
The state government extended condolences to the Lagbaja family, the Olobu of Ilobu, and the people of Osun State.
The mourning period, beginning today, Thursday, November 7, 2024, and ending on Saturday, November 9, will include a Condolence Register for people to share their memories of the late COAS, commemorating his life and legacy. Lt. Gen. Lagbaja passed away at age 56.
