Locals demand urgent evacuation of unidentified corpse found in Ore

Residents of Ore, headquarters of the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Monday called on authorities to urgently remove the corpse of a yet-to-be-identified man discovered in the town.

The body, dressed in dirty clothing, was found along the Sabo area of Ore.

The cause of death could not be immediately ascertained.

Eyewitnesses described the discovery as disturbing and called on relevant authorities to take urgent action.

One of the residents who preferred anonymity said the corpse had been lying unattended, raising fears of possible health risks.

In response, locals appealed to environmental health officials to evacuate the body promptly to prevent an outbreak of disease and restore public hygiene.

As of press time, the remains of the deceased were still at the scene.
