Maiden Kwara Beach Volleyball Tournament scheduled to hold in Ilorin

The inaugural Kwara Beach Volleyball Tournament is set to take place from December 27-28, 2024, at WaterView Park in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Dare Kuti, Media Assistant to Nigeria Volleyball Federation President Engr. Musa Nimrod, announced the event, emphasizing its goal to promote beach volleyball and identify emerging talent. “This tournament will offer a crucial platform for athletes to display their skills and passion,” Kuti said at a press briefing on Monday.

The competition invites participants from military and paramilitary bodies as well as students from higher institutions, aiming to foster camaraderie across diverse groups.

Key collaborators include the Kwara State Volleyball Association, the Nigeria Volleyball Referees Association (Kwara State), the University of Ilorin, the Kwara State Sports Commission, and the Ministry of Youth Development.

Kuti highlighted the importance of investor partnerships to enhance the event and advance the sport in Nigeria. He also urged the Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Kwara to assist with event publicity and community engagement.

Kuti further congratulated Engr. Musa Nimrod on his recent appointment as President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, a milestone for Nigeria’s sports community.
