Makinde applauds NPFL board for improving Nigerian league quality

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has praised the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board for the improved standard of the league.
The governor commended the board, led by Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye, while speaking at the 81st Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) held in Ibadan.
Expressing satisfaction with the decline of the “win-at-all-costs” mentality in the Nigerian top flight, Governor Makinde described the trend as a positive development for Nigerian football.
He also expressed surprise at the increasing number of away victories in the NPFL, commending both the NFF and NPFL for this improvement.
“Since the inception of the current board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), I have noticed that any team can win anywhere in the league. It is not like the past, when home teams were always favoured to win.
“This is a plus for this administration, and it shows that the Nigerian League brand is gradually aligning with global standards,” remarked Governor Makinde.
