Makinde appoints new officials for Local Government Commission, Pilgrims Board

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved fresh appointments into the Oyo State Local Government Commission and the Muslim Wing of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board.

According to a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Honourable Segun Ogunwuyi, Hon. Akinwale Akinwole was named Chairman of the Local Government Commission, with Mr. Yusuf Ali Akinkunmi and Alhaji Oke Taiwo appointed as full-time members, and Mr. John Abisoye Adisa-Oke and Mrs. Nike Arewa as part-time members.

The statement added that their appointments are subject to confirmation by the Oyo State House of Assembly.

Additional members appointed to the Muslim Wing of the Pilgrims Welfare Board include Abdu Rahman Agbotomokekere, Amusat Ayyub Agboola, Dawud Afolabi, Latifat Dairo, and Mallam Abdusallam Abdullateef.

The appointments take immediate effect, with the Governor congratulating the new appointees and urging them to see their roles as a call to service and a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
