Makinde donates bus to Bodija traders, assures road rehabilitation

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has pledged to commence the rehabilitation of internal roads at the Bodija International Market in Ibadan. The promise was made during the official presentation of an 18-seater bus to the Ibadan Foodstuffs Sellers Association.
Speaking on behalf of the governor at the event, the Special Adviser on Market Liaison, Chief Babatunde Tijani, said the bus donation was intended to facilitate the mobility of the union’s executive members within and outside the state.
“This donation reflects the cordial relationship between the government and market associations. We encourage the leadership of the market to remain united and continue to support the Makinde-led administration,” Tijani stated.
In his remarks, the Babaloja of Bodija International Market, Chief Ismael Aderemi Jimoh, commended the governor for the intervention, describing it as timely and beneficial to the traders. He reaffirmed the association’s continued support for the state government.
The event was graced by prominent government officials and stakeholders, including the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazim Adeniyi; Hon. Comforter Olajide and Hon. Gabriel Babajide, representing Ibadan North I and II State Constituencies respectively.
Also in attendance were the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mrs. Toyin Balogun, and the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Mr. Seun Olufade.
Other dignitaries present included the Chairman of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Rt. Hon. Babatunde Olaniyan (Akoro), and the Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaji Yekini Abass.
