Prove ₦4bn NDDC claim or resign, Amaechi’s wife dares Wike

Wife of former Minister of Transportation, Dame Judith Amaechi, has dismissed claims by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, that she received ₦4 billion monthly from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Responding through her media aide, Dike Bekwele, Dame Amaechi described Wike’s allegation as false, reckless, and politically motivated, saying it was aimed at damaging her reputation and discrediting her non-governmental organisation, the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI).

She stressed that neither she nor ESI ever received such funds from the NDDC, and that all partnerships involving ESI were publicly documented and transparent.

“It is both absurd and a mere figment of Mr. Wike’s imagination,” she said. “There is absolutely no iota of truth in the allegation that I received ₦4 billion monthly from the NDDC. The records are there.”

Dame Amaechi also challenged Wike to publish the forensic audit report he referred to, alleging it was being suppressed to shield certain individuals. She insisted no such report had indicted her or her organisation.

“We challenge Mr. Wike to make public his version of the forensic audit report of the NDDC where either I or ESI was indicted,” she said.

She further dared the FCT Minister to resign if he fails to provide evidence backing his claims. “In the likely event that Mr. Wike fails to provide such a report, he should honour his word and resign, while tendering an unreserved apology to the nation,” she declared.
