Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has commiserated with the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, over the death of his wife, Olori Basirat Ajibola.

In a condolence statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor described her death as a painful loss to Ibadanland and Oyo State.

Makinde extended his condolences to the monarch, the Ajibola family and the entire Ibadan traditional institution, noting that the late Olori, who held the title of Aare Onibon Iyalode of Ibadanland, contributed to her community through her support for the monarch and commitment to the well-being of the people.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Oyo State, I extend my deepest sympathies to Oba Tajudeen Ajibola and the entire family,” the governor said.

He prayed for strength and comfort for the monarch and other members of the family as they came to terms with the loss, while asking God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

“Her passing is a painful loss, and we pray that the Almighty grants His Majesty and other members of the family the strength and comfort needed at this difficult time. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” Makinde added.

The governor also reaffirmed the state government’s support for the traditional institution and the people of Ibadanland as they mourned the late Olori.

He said her legacy of humility and service would remain in the memories of those who knew her.
