Makinde, Musawa attend Afolayan’s KAP Film Village opening

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and the Minister of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hanatu Musawa, led dignitaries to the official opening of Kunle Afolayan’s KAP Film Village and Resort in Oyo State.
The film village and resort, located in the Igboijaiye area of Oyo State, hosted several dignitaries, creatives, and government functionaries at the grand opening on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Speaking at the event, Makinde stated, “At yesterday’s unveiling of KAP Film Village and Resort in Igboijaiye, Oyo State, I made some promises which our administration will fulfill to support the investment by Kunle Afolayan and ensure that the business thrives. I also assured that we will support other investors who choose Oyo State.”
He further explained, “We will provide connectivity to the national grid for the resort. We will also provide an alternative source of power through a solar-hybrid mini-grid for the resort within a timeline of six months. The road to the resort will be fixed by the Itesiwaju Local Government Council.
“Finally, the planned airstrips at Otu and Igbeti for security surveillance will be utilized to accommodate small aircraft from the international airport in Ibadan, providing easier access to the resort.
“Hearty congratulations to Kunle Afolayan and his team on the unveiling of his KAP Film Village and Resort in Igboijaiye, Oyo State today. This monumental achievement has put Igboijaiye on the global map.”
Also in attendance were Honourable Shina Peller, Seun Soyinka, Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran, Tunde Kelani, Abike Dabiri, and royal fathers.
