Makinde rallies support for PDP candidate ahead of Ibadan bye-election

Adejayan Gbenga –
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will emerge victorious in the forthcoming by-election for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, scheduled for August 16.
Speaking at Bodija Market in Ibadan during the official flag-off of the PDP campaign and the presentation of the party’s flag to its candidate, Mr Folajimi Oyekunle, Makinde said the expected victory would reaffirm the PDP’s political dominance in the state.
He described Oyekunle as a trusted and competent leader, emphasizing that he is the best choice to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives.
“I urge all eligible voters in Ibadan North to come out and vote en masse for our candidate. Your support has always been the foundation of our success, and we count on it once again,” the governor said.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Folajimi Oyekunle Campaign, Mr Ademola Omotosho, also called on residents of the constituency to turn out in large numbers and cast their votes for the PDP candidate.
Oyekunle, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Makinde before emerging as the PDP flagbearer for the by-election.
