Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has forwarded the names of Dr Lateef Idowu Oyeleke and Barrister Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as commissioners.

In a letter referenced SP/S.663/2/VOL. III/436 and addressed to the speaker of the House, the governor requested the lawmakers to conduct a thorough and expedited screening of the nominees.

The letter stated that the nominations were made in line with Section 192 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which empowers state governors to appoint commissioners subject to legislative approval.

Makinde expressed confidence that the Assembly would give the request prompt consideration in the spirit of cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government.

The nominees include Dr Oyeleke, a former commissioner for environment, and Barrister Ojo, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Saki East/Atisbo State Constituency.
