Man alleges assault after landlord meeting in Ekiti

By Boye Oyeyemi –
An Ekiti State resident, Mr Adebayo Ogunsakin, has alleged that he was assaulted following a landlord meeting held in the Bolorunduro community of the Adehun area in Ado Ekiti.
Ogunsakin made the allegation in a video that has gone viral on social media, in which he was seen visibly distressed while recounting the incident.
According to him, the assault followed a disagreement with a government official on community development during the meeting.
He claimed that although the disagreement was initially resolved amicably at the venue, the matter later escalated.
Ogunsakin alleged that he was subsequently attacked by about five suspected thugs.
A separate video shared by social media activist, Mr Isaac Fayose, also showed Ogunsakin in distress, sparking public reactions and calls for intervention.
Many social media users have urged the Ekiti State Government and the Nigeria Police Force to investigate the allegation and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
As of the time of filing this report, the police are yet to react to the viral video.
