The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned a 30-year-old man, Adebayo Deji, before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged case of vehicle theft.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant allegedly conspired with others, who are now at large, to steal vehicles in 2025 at Iluomoba-Ekiti, within the Ode-Ekiti Magisterial District.

Oriyomi said the alleged offence contravenes Section 421 of the Ekiti State Criminal Law, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Mr A. A. Alaro, urged the court to grant his client bail, assuring the magistrate that the defendant would be available for trial and would not jump bail.

In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety of like sum.

The case was adjourned until March 3 for hearing.
