A middle-aged man, Femi Olamitoke, has been arraigned before an Akungba-Akoko Magistrate’s Court in Ondo State for allegedly threatening to kill a man with a knife.

The defendant was brought before the court on a two-count charge bordering on threat to life, according to the prosecution.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Olasunkanmi Boboye, told the court that the alleged offence was committed on June 8, 2026, at about 8:10 p.m. within the Akungba-Akoko Magisterial District.

Boboye alleged that Olamitoke threatened the life of one Afuye Muhammed with a knife after earlier causing a disturbance in his household.

The prosecutor said the alleged offence contravened Section 86 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges, while his counsel, Bode Wolemiwa, prayed the court to admit him to bail, assuring that he would not jump trial.

In his ruling, Magistrate K.A. Kolawole granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like amount and adjourned the case for further proceedings. The court noted that the matter would continue on a later date.
