Man arraigned in Ondo for posting ex-girlfriend’s nude video

19-year-old Joseph Shittu, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Akure Magistrate’s Court sitting at Oke-Eda, Ondo State, for allegedly posting a nude video of his former girlfriend on social media.

The prosecution alleged that Shittu uploaded the explicit clip to three of the victim’s institutional platforms, causing her emotional and psychological distress.

According to the prosecutor, Augustine Omhenimhen, the incident occurred on August 25, 2025, shortly after the victim, Otun Elizabeth Iremide, ended the relationship.

Omhenimhen further claimed that Shittu had previously threatened to post the video if she broke up with him.

Shittu’s lawyer, A.I. Shuaibu, entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf and argued that there was no direct evidence linking his client to the act.

He maintained that Shittu was being suspected solely because of his past relationship with the victim and requested that the court grant him bail.

When questioned by Presiding Magistrate Taiwo Lebi, the defendant denied uploading the video but refused to disclose who did.

The court adjourned the case to October 14, 2025, for hearing.
